Gulshan Grover and his son Sanjay Grover plan on producing movies and this might even be one in each of the explanations for Gulshan Grover declining the FTII’s prestigious offer. The wait for a new Chairman at the celebrated Film and tv Institute of India in Pune is set to get longer as Gulshan Grover, who was presumably following in line to helm the post, could have determined against it. The Bad Man of Bollywood is unlikely to simply accept the offer, consistent with a report in DNA. Earlier in November, Actor Anupam Kher quit because of the Chairman of the institute after serving a short tenure of 1 year. Kher’s exit had come as a shock to the remainder of the FTII governing council.
According to the report, previous work commitments are being cited because the main reason for Grover not acceptive the post. “Yes, I’m unable to take this up. I’d have admired to be of service to the future generations of cinema and that I really stand behind what the FTII believes in and stands for,” Grover told DNA.
Meanwhile, Grover’s son, Sanjay Grover, has come back to India after a stint in Hollywood. The father-son duo plan on making movies and this might even be one in each of the explanations for Gulshan Grover declining the FTII’s prestigious offer. The meeting to select next Chairman is scheduled for December 18, 2018.
At the time of his exit, Anupam Kher had aforementioned, “It’s a good institution, however, it needs someone who can give it a touch longer.” He was appointed because of the Chairman of FTII in October 2017. His appointment came after his predecessor, Gajendra Chauhan, faced massive protests throughout his tenure.
