Director Ali Abbas Zafar has confirmed roumers about Jackie Shroff playing Salman’s father in “Bharat”

The making team of Bharat has revealed another cast from the film and this time it’s Jackie Shroff . He has been confirmed to play the role of Salman’s father in the movie. Director Ali Abbas Zafar has revealed to media this news by saying,

“We met Jaggu da (jackie) in London and discussed his dates and looks. I have wanted to work with him for a long time as I feel he is the perfect amalgamation of a star and actor. I was very glad as Jackie sir instantly agreed with the story to do the film in just 20 mins of narration”.

He also shared a photo with Jackie on Instagram and captioned it “welcome to bharat the film”.

An insider source from the set has reveled,

“Jackie has played Aamir Khan’s father in Dhoom 3, and Akshay Kumar’s father in Brothers. Now, he will be seen playing Salman’s father in Bharat. The film, an Indian adaptation of the Korean film An Ode To My Father, already has quite an extensive cast that features katrina Kaif, Disha Patani and Tabu, among others. The period drama will have Jackie and Salman being separated during the partition.”

Here’s a fun fact for you. In real life Jackie is only nine years older than Salman and shares a very close relationship with him. But it’s not the first time, Jackie has played father-in-law of Salman in movie “veer” earlier.

The story line of Bharat is based on 2014 South Korean movie Ode To My Father. The film will be shot across locations in Abu Dhabi, Spain, Punjab and Delhi and some other places in India.

The movie includes various transformations of Salman’s character depending spanning different age group. The film also stars Disha Patani, Tabu, Nora Fatehi and Sunil Grover in particular roles and katrina kaif has been declared as the female lead after Priyanka Chopra left the film.

The film is scheduled to release on Eid 2019.
